Coogan Kelly Memorial Rail Jam Pics

Big thanks to Coogan's family, Snowbomb, Squaw Valley, LINE Skis, Orage Clothing and everyone else that made this event possible. Right around $1,500 was raised for Coogan's scholarship fund. Side note: Lil' mini shredder Carson LeHouillier, (in the TJ Outfit) slayed the rails and bonked the barrels with such smooth style that the judges had to award him the $250 ORAGE STOKE CERTIFICATE. Congrats Carson!

We believe this skier is none other than KC Deane, (but not positive)

Where Was The Red Dawn??

Wondering where the Red Dawn was for the last 10 days? They were on the infamous "2G" loop of the southwest. 29 shops + clinics, 100's of employees, 30,000+ feet of elevation change, lots of Subway $5 footlongs and way too much Taco Bell.

LINE and Eric Pollard Kill It with New Anthem Skis

Check it out. After LINE created what was rumored to be the best graphic of all the time, (the original Anthem with 80's rockers, Kiss, the guy that sang, "Welcome to the Jungle", etc), the Kiss drummer's wife saw a picture of the ski, (prior to shipping) in Maxim magazine and called her attorney. Long story short, there has been 1,000 Anthems in the Jarden warehouse for 2 + years pending payment to the Kiss Army or ???? Lucky for The Red Dawn and LINE fans everywhere, the people up at LINE Seattle did some magic and somehow actually pulled off the original top sheet and added a new one. Crazy magical process that we don't understand. Check out the new limited edition Anthems in person at the best dealers in Ca, NV and AZ.

Porter's Hood Trip

The good people at Porter's graciously invited me for a week at Hood with the crew. A week of skiing and skating Windell's camp in July, an RV loaded with beer, food and product. How could I say no? Eric, Casey, Zach, Dave, and I rolled up last week, rode hard, hung with the campers and worked on a top secret mission for Porters. It was an amazing week. I'd like to give a big thanks to everyone who helped out. You guys rock, this trip was the highlight of my summer.

Everything looks good for 2009!

For Every Win, there will be a Loss.

Good friend of The Red Dawn and Porters Employee, "Quick Nick" made the mistake of betting against Boston, (something the Red Dawn would normally support), except in this case when the Celtics would play against the biggest baby in the NBA, Koby Bryant and the LA Lakers. Koby's failure to, "score whenever he wants to" led to LA's defeat and thus this horrible haircut to Nick. Forget the championship rings, this hair is downright bad. (and that's bad meaning bad, not bad meaning good).

The Sierra Buttes with Charlie Berg

Charlie Berg was a great new addition to The Red Dawn team this season. Charlie skis for LINE and Full Tilt. In addition to being an amazing big mountain skier, Charlie is one of the most well spoken and thoughtful athletes out there. He should be all over the freeride ski videos on the new LINE site this fall.

This past week, Charlie took me out skiing in the Sierra Buttes, a gnarled little subrange about an hour north of Tahoe. Check out the shots.

Multiple Versions of Riding H2O with Mike Hanley

Friend of The Red Dawn, Mike Hanley keeps it official. It's not very often that we have an opportunity to work with a solid individual that understands the many facets of the industry. Mike is a respected coach with the Squaw Freeride Team, great skier, impressive surfer and most importantly, an excellent communicator for the brands he represents, (Line Skis, Orage Clothing and Full Tilt Boots). We have to say thanks for a great season. Your new skis for the summer camps will be in the mail this week. Again, many thanks for all the support.

Skiing in...Arizona!?

Earlier this winter I got the chance to head down to Arizona for a demo at Ski Sunrise. The level of excitement was contagious. Though the hill was small and the drive long, everyone was unbelievably stoked. The resort fed us, put us up, and bought the drinks. I've gotta give a hand to everyone who organized or attended this demo, it was one of the most fun this season.
